Fear and Presence
Low levels of engagement and presence often correlate with worries and stress about the future and guilt and regret related to the past. Unfortunately, this reality lends itself to a vicious cycle: Lack of engaged presence can lead to missed opportunity, compromised success and decreased sense of fulfillment, which can all easily lead to additional regrets and stress.
The age of "digital overload" only compounds this challenge. Ironically, our compulsion to multi-task and not "miss a beat" can significantly undermine our sense of calm, our engagement and our ultimate success.
Question to consider:
How does your ability (or lack thereof) to be fully present reflect your level of freedom and power?
